Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Perfect for its intended use - looks awesome
Do you want a desk that will get comments from everyone who sees it? We bought this desk for our mainly PC office to share an iMac between five people. It works great, and everyone who notices it has to check it out and ask us about it.

The keyboard is height adjustable and also slides forwards and backwards. I wouldn't recommend this as your main desk if you spend 8 hours a day at it, but if you'd like to tuck your Mac into a closet, or move it between rooms - this is perfect. I worked on it probably 4-5 hours at a time without feeling like it was uncomfortable. All day might be a stretch, though.

The instructions that come with the unit are very clear and easy to follow. You probably need two people to put it together, just to keep the legs aligned while you screw them in. I put it together by myself but it was harder than having two people.

CONS:
Nowhere to set your papers or books
The little "iPod shelf" underneath is not for anything heavy - it is more a leg support than a shelf

PROS:
Surprisingly comfortable to use
I love the built in swivel stand
Easy to move from place to place with the wheels
Looks awesome
Plenty sturdy for my needs

If you can't tell, we love ours!

Customer Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Great if you want a mobile desk and looks cool
I saved for this desk for a long time, and was appalled when it arrived looking like it had already been used. The plastic center tray, and the clear cover over the base were scratched, and the feet were dirty. A word to the wise, don't try to put it together by yourself; it's very hard to balance the legs properly. The keyboard tray lists to one side because the hardware used to attach it to the legs is a little too loose. Hardware-wise, this desk is a near-miss. That said, it's a sturdy support for my imac, and I no longer have to worry about my cats knocking my mac over. It's extremely mobile, and I find the keyboard tray ergonomically comfortable. I like to sit on excercise balls, couches and beds while I use my mac, and this desk is just adjustable enough to suit me very well.
Bottom line: very usable, wish the production value was higher. You're paying for more cool than quality.

Customer Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Poor Design By Rain Design
My husband bought me Rain Design Inc's iGo and iLap for the holidays. Both are huge disappointments. The iGo is flimsy, unstable, and - unlike Rain Design claims - not ergonomic at all. Too many plastic parts, nothing fit in smoothly, the keyboard tray slides out too easily. The plastic stand for the MacMini was a ghastly yellow color instead of clear. The legs were scratched and so was the base of the stand. It feels like a child's toy. The iMac monitor sits too close to the user - this is far from ergonomic. The keyboard tray is too low, even at its highest position. I would love to return it. I most likely will, even though Rain Design's return policy is just as horrendous as their product - 15% restocking fee and I have to pay for the return shipping. Needless to say, I shall not be purchasing anything made by Rain Design Inc again.

Notebook Computers Reviews

Sales of semiconductors in November indicate that consumer products such as LCD (liquid crystal display) TVs, digital music players, and other devices sold well during the holidays, the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) said Monday.

November chip sales rose 2.3 percent year-on-year to $23.1 billion, the SIA said.

Unit demand has far outpaced last year. But falling chip prices have hurt industry revenue, the chip association said. For example, DRAM (dynamic RAM) bit shipments grew 25 percent in the three months through mid-December, but average selling prices have declined 20 percent over the same period.

The association also noted that rising energy prices and concerns about the sub-prime lending issue in the U.S. do not appear to have had a significant impact on consumer spending for the holidays, the SIA said. The group reiterated its forecast that worldwide semiconductor sales will reach a new record in 2007. But it will take a stronger than expected December selling season to reach the 3.8 percent growth goal the group had forecast earlier this year, the SIA said.

Investment banking firm Credit Suisse was not as optimistic as the SIA.

The November data was below normal seasonal trends, noted analyst John Pitzer, in a report on Monday. Even if December reaches its normal seasonal growth, 2007 industry revenue will only reach $255.7 billion, up 3.2 percent over last year. The growth percentage would fall short of the SIA's 3.8 percent target.

The slow November prompted Credit Suisse to lower its 2008 chip industry revenue forecast to 9.4 percent year-on-year growth, down from a previous target of 13 percent.
